This just off the Cane’s presser….Scott Walker re-upped for 3 years at 2.5 million per year! It looks like JR blinked first during these negotiations, but after those recent Flyer’s signings who can blame him? I told you Scottie would be smiling after that Hartnell deal! Originally, I thought 2.5 for three years might be a little risky, but it looks like money will be no object for some teams come July 1st. Good job by Rutherford recognizing that the prices have gone up and for making that adjustment. This signing will please a lot of Caniacs!

You should be able to get them at the Eye. I’m not sure how much they charge to add the numbers to a jersey you already have, but I know they do it. You might want to wait until the new jerseys come out though. They’re supposed to change styles this year.

Yes I was pumped, thanks for the props. I weighed in on 850’s blog as soon as I heard the news about Walker.
Now if we can find a 3rd line center with a chip on his shoulder, we should be set for next season. This is assuming our D gets sorted out, still not sure who is leaving and staying? I know Wesley re-upped and Heddy wants too? A guy like Tannabbe, who took some grief early last season, but he was our best d-man many nights down the stretch. (not sure what that says actually?) is he gone? or staying? or unknown?
I wanted to go to the cool bar, since I live about 20 minutes away, but I couldn’t make it. Sounds like I missed a great time. How do bloggers meet in the real world? Do we all wear name tags with our screen names on them?
Keep up the great work Bubba, kudos on hammering any lazy beat writer who tries to sling any mud about our Canes.
If any Canes blogger should get some type of media access, it should be you. I started out last season reading every Canes blog I could find, and your’s was consistantly one of the best. So much so, that I quit checking most of them as they rarely had any new info or any sense of humor.

wow, thanks for the kind words Eddie, I appreciate it. Good question about how bloggers meet at these events. Sometimes they don’t! Luckily, Wufpirate and I exchanged phone numbers, although the first time he called me I couldn’t hear a word he was saying. *L* I didn’t see a couple of people I was going to meet up with. Next time maybe we should wear name tags.
