Capitals 5, Hurricanes 2

Something came up and I missed the contest last night, but according to all reports the Canes played a much better game than they did on Wednesday. After the “Junior Canes” jumped out to a 2-0 lead, the Washington regulars woke up and took control of the game. Dan LaCouture had one goal while Ryan Bayda scored the other for Carolina.

Michael Leighton held his own while he was in the game, stopping 15 of 16 shots. Daniel Manzato replaced him about half way through the game.

Apparently, it was a chippy game as Wade Brookbank and Nicholas Blanchard both received fighting majors and Tim Conboy had three roughing calls.

Alexander Ovechkin had two goals and an assist for the Caps while Michael Nylander chipped in two goals himself. You can find a review of the game on ch.com and on LSB.

More thoughts during lunch break. TGIF!
