Beautiful Day
And so it begins…..
Tonight the Hurricanes take on the Panthers, and the season’s long journey will be underway. I am taking time off from the day job for the next few days, so that I can do some serious blogging.
This morning, the plan is to venture to the RBC to watch the morning skate, (which technically does not exist), and will also attempt to get a couple of interviews.
In the afternoon the articles will be coming “fast and furious”.
First of all, Cory and I will post our picks for the Southeast Division, (and of course in typical “Canes Clash” fashion, we do not agree on the outcome). Then, I will post my morning news from the RBC here and at The Hockey News blog. We will also be posting the lineups for both the Panthers and the Canes and will discuss anything else that comes up. In the meantime if anyone has questions or remarks, I’ll be hanging out on the blog most of the afternoon. Just leave a comment and I will respond. If enough of you are hanging around, maybe we’ll get some good chatter going, who knows?
I’ll also be working the game and will try to give a couple of “live” updates for those of you who can’t be at the rink. Cory may join in as well.
TGIF!

It’s a very exciting time that is for sure!! Looking forward to all the updates throughout the day to make this Friday pass by!
I’m interested to see who the top 6 d-men are going to be? Or even 7 if they decide to go that route.

Im Tyler, I lived in Raleigh for the past few years and now I live in Creedmoor. Im a die hard Caniac. I watch EVERY game, check CC at least 5 times PER DAY, drink beer out of a Canes Mug, wear my sweater for all home games (games I watch at home) etc. etc. etc. Finding fellow caniacs in Raleigh was pretty easy. Creedmoors a little different. Im hoping I can find someone maybe from around canes country that lives in the Creedmoor or Butner area thats as passionate about Canes hockey as I am. If anyone in the area wants to watch the game tonite, Me and my Wife will probably call in some pizza and wings, I’ve got a 50″ Plasma and surround sound, and will probably have a few friends over for a few beers. Email me if your a caniac in the Granville county area. Tylera1104@yahoo.com

I’ts finally here!! Opening day for the ‘Canes… it truly is a “beautiful day!” Games this week on Versus only increased my hunger. Bubba and Cory - thank you for helping me get through the off-season. I’m so psyched. Suit, tie, and RBK Hurricanes hat today at work. It is going to be a great year! Our journey begins….

Thanks for posting Tyler …
You might be able to try the message boards, too, for someone to watch the Canes with:

In the meantime, keep leaving us your thoughts and comments here, too!

So I gotta share this one with you guys/gals.
I thought for sure I was missing opening night for the second straight year. I have a 2 year old, and I had no one to watch the little one (she is scared of loud noises, so taking her with is not an option yet). So I get back from having lunch with the wife to find a package with my Brindy jersey and a pair of tickets on my office chair. My wife had it planned all along! The mother in law will have the lil one, and the wife and I will be watching our Canes tame the Kitty cats on the ice!

Tonight will be my 3rd year in a row attending opening night. 2006 against the Pens everyone in attendance was given a little Stanley Cup. Who knew we would be hoisting the real Cup that year?

Still no word on who is starting on defense tonight. Not sure if Lavi has made his mind up yet. Everyone seemed excited in the room and they are looking forward to tonight.

wylde-
That is Awesome. You do have an awesome wife - have fun at the game! I’ll be watching.
I 2nd Samsanovfan on Bubba & Cory getting me through the off season - I was getting a bit antsy towards the end of it. The games overseas just didn’t feel like the beginning of the season to me. Tonight will. I will be looking forward to a pounding of the Panthers.

Tyler A, She is a total keeper, plus she is almost as die hard as I am!
