Versus Attempts to Step Up Coverage

Versus just opened a brand new season and started right off with some new enhancements for viewers. For instance during the studio analysis portion of the broadcast, they are implementing a new “puck tracking” system. Before you groan, no this is not like the old “glow puck” used by Fox Sports back in the 90’s. This is called “digitalized tracking”.

Most importantly, it’s not going to be used during game play.

Here is a link to a recent press release announcing the start of a new season which has more information.

While some fans continue to long for ESPN to jump back into the hockey business, Versus has worked very hard to improve coverage and expand viewership. They have been growing each year and plan continued growth.

  1. Speaking of Versus. I watched bits and pieces of the Detroit game last night. They started out before the game analyzing teams about the East conf teams and at the intermission. I did not hear them mention the Canes team unless I missed it (I was in and out of the room). Did they talk about our Canes or were we not worth mentioning?

  2. I will say that I liked watching the Detroit game in HD last night and from what they said last night ALL their games will be in HD where available.

I just hope they cut into VersusGolfHD on TimeWarnerCable for ALL their games.

  3. Im Tyler, I lived in Raleigh for the past few years and now I live in Creedmoor. Im a die hard Caniac. I watch EVERY game, check CC at least 5 times PER DAY, drink beer out of a Canes Mug, wear my sweater for all home games (games I watch at home) etc. etc. etc. Finding fellow caniacs in Raleigh was pretty easy. Creedmoors a little different. Im hoping I can find someone maybe from around canes country that lives in the Creedmoor or Butner area thats as passionate about Canes hockey as I am. If anyone in the area wants to watch the game tonite, Me and my Wife will probably call in some pizza and wings, I’ve got a 50? Plasma and surround sound, and will probably have a few friends over for a few beers. Email me if your a caniac in the Granville county area. Tylera1104@yahoo.com

ARGH. im hoping that doesnt happen tonight,
    i havent checked it though.

    fsn needs MORE hd games.
