Bret Hedican Signs in Anaheim

Ex-Hurricane Bret Hedican, who has been holding out for a job in California, finally got his wish and was signed today by the Anaheim Ducks. Sportsnet has the story here.

The defenseman signed a one-year contract for $870,000. Hedican is just 12 games shy of playing 1,000 career NHL games.

  1. How great for him, I’m glad we already played them-lol. I wish him and his family well. I know it must be a difficult time for him at this time in his career to want to play as long as he can. Hopefully he can find his way to hockey sportscasting in the future. It will be difficult to see him not playing in a Canes jersey. Hedican will always be one of those Cane icon players to me.

  2. I was not a fan when this guy was in Raleigh. I thought that during the run for the cup, they were winning despite Hedican. My friend and I had a game, we called it UHTOC. It was the unofficial Hedican turn over counter. He had so many plays that turned into A-1 scoring chances for the oposition, it was like Malik all over again. Thank you Jim for not resigning this guy.

    OOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

Glen Wesley…. sad to see him retire. Mr. Consistency. Thank You Glen.

  3. And there is this stuff called CRACK… yeah…

  4. I say thank god he has been picked up and no one here in Raliegh can get a brain fart and bring this moldy loser back! Anaheim will regret this move, mark my words!
