Loose Pucks — Nov. 10

More Loose Pucks:
• The Hockey News recently published their annual “Bucks And Pucks” report, which focuses on the financial side of the game. This year’s analysis looks at team finances and the salary cap — mostly how the current economic downturn is affecting the league. We hear enough about the bad economy, but there were [...]

Checking In On The Prospects

Here’s some stats information on the Canes prospects in North America and overseas, for those who don’t want to dig it all up (* indicates team-high total; for stats that have multiple people tied, I did not include a *):

• Nicolas Blanchard, Albany (AHL) — 4G: 1-1-2, [...]

Camp Preview Looks At Prospects

The 600K per year that the Canes have committed to this backup is 800K per year cheaper than what they were paying John Grahame previously.
Let’s [...]

Home Sweet Home

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to play at the Bell Centre in Montreal like it’s their home ice. Cam Ward has yet to lose there. Erik Cole usually plays his best hockey there. Saturday night was no exception as the Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-1, to make it nine victories in [...]

Fast and Loose

The Hurricanes beat the Thrashers 5-3 last night in a fun game to watch that had almost non-stop action. The offense was fast, the defense was loose, and both teams let it all hang out. The game basically boiled down to goalkeeping, and fortunately for the Hurricanes their Conn Smythe award winner [...]
